The Ilkley Manor House is a heritage site in the heart of Ilkley. In Spring 2018 the Manor House was transferred from Bradford City Council to the Ilkley Manor House Trust as a community asset.
The Trustees wanted to mark with a ‘grand opening event’ and Ilkley born Yorkshire man, Alan Titchmarsh, accepted the invitation to become Patron of the Trust and officially open the site on 5 April 2018.
It was important that the day engaged with a wide range of difference community groups, building relationships and collaborative partnerships.
We were able to support the Trust with planning and on-the-day event management giving the Trust an opportunity to showcase some of the creative and heritage activities that the Manor House would be offering in the future.
Attended by over 300 people the day included Mr Titchmarsh planting out herb baskets with local school children and the Out of the Box gardening groups, as well as traditional games, historic dressing up and a contemporary art exhibition by local artists.
“Many thanks for a great day which was organised with extraordinary meticulousness. I appreciate the level of detail in the planning and execution. Everything worked perfectly.”
Sir Rodney Brooke, President of the Ilkley Manor House Trust
